Two volumes, sewn as issued in printed wrappers. A fine association copy with stamp of professor Johnny Roosval (1879-1965) on front wrapper of text volume. He was Sweden's first professor of art history (Stockholm) and is thanked in the introduction, after Ewert Wrangel (Lund), who is referred to as ”my university professor”.
With three leaves loosely laid in containing typewritten and manuscript addenda et corrigenda by the author.
Investigation into the complex attribution and stylistic relationship between the two early Renaissance Italian painters, Masolino da Panicale and Masaccio, particularly focusing on works in the Brancacci Chapel. Lindberg's study analyzed key artworks, challenging and refining existing understanding of which painter was responsible for which parts of these collaborative projects.
