Rölakan (or röllakan) textiles are a traditional type of Swedish flat-weave rug or textile, recognized for their tapestry-like technique, geometric designs, and exceptional durability. Originating from a Nordic, predominantly Scanian (southern Swedish), folk art tradition, these textiles are typically made with a linen warp and a wool weft, creating a smooth, reversible fabric that has been used for centuries for floor coverings, cushions, and, historically, as wall hangings or bed covers.
